I added a domain name to my blocked senders list, but emails from this domain still end up in my junk mail folder. I don't want to see them at all. How do I accomplish this?

Hi Toby,

From what I checked, blocking a domain in Outlook does not permanently delete messages—it only tells Outlook to treat them as junk. By design, messages from blocked senders or domains are delivered to the Junk Email folder, not discarded, so you can still review them in case of false positives.

If you want emails from a domain to never appear at all, you need to use a mail rule instead of (or in addition to) the blocked senders list. Create a rule that deletes messages automatically: go to Settings → Mail → Rules, create a new rule where the condition is sender’s domain includes [domain], and set the action to Delete. This will send the emails straight to Deleted Items or remove them without showing in Junk.

If you've added a domain name to your blocked senders list but emails from that domain are still appearing in your junk mail folder, it's important to ensure that the settings are correctly configured. Here are some steps you can take:

    1. Verify Blocked Senders List: Double-check that the domain is correctly listed in your Blocked Senders list. Sometimes, a typo or incorrect format can prevent it from functioning as intended.
    2. Sender Filter Settings: Make sure that the Sender Filter agent is set to reject messages from blocked senders. This can help to ensure that emails from blocked domains are not delivered to your inbox or junk mail folder.
    3. Check for Other Rules: Ensure that there are no other rules or settings that might be allowing emails from that domain to bypass the blocked senders list.
    4. Use Exchange Online PowerShell: If you are an admin, you can use the Set-MailboxJunkEmailConfiguration cmdlet in Exchange Online PowerShell to configure the safelist collection on a user's mailbox. This can help enforce the blocked senders list more effectively.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may want to report the problem to Microsoft for further assistance.
