in a family safety group yet I have no idea how I got there and who the organiser is

so as mentioned I’m in a family safety group, I for one have no knowledge of joining one if that means much but secondly the only other person in it the organiser I have no idea who it or they are

I understand your account is in a family safety group, but you have recollection of ever joining one and don't know who the organizer is.

Here what you can do:

  • You can check the organizer name by go to https://family.microsoft.com, sign in and look for the name
  • Also, you can check whether “Leave family group” option exists, if you see leave family group > use it
