I have a sole Microsoft Office 2024 licence on my pc. If I wanted to use this additionally on a laptop I assume I need to purchase an additional licence. What is the cost of this?

I already have a Microsoft Office Home 2024 licence installed on my pc, purchased from Currys. If I wish to also install on my laptop will I need to purchase an additional licence and is there a cost for this? I am the sole user of both machines and both are linked to me Microsoft account.

AFAIK, Microsoft Office Home 2024 is indeed a one-time purchase, perpetual license that is licensed for installation on a single PC or Mac only. Unlike Microsoft 365 subscriptions, which allow multiple installations for the same user across devices, Office Home 2024 does not allow installation on more than one computer at the same time.

If you want to use Office 2024 on your laptop while keeping it on your PC, you would need to either purchase an additional license or uninstall it from the first machine and transfer the license to the laptop using your Microsoft account. The cost would be identical to your original purchase - unless you manage to find a promotion for a discounted price from the same seller.

For multiple-device usage without extra licenses, you might want to consider the Microsoft 365 Family subscription, since it supports installation on multiple PCs, Macs, tablets, and phones for up to six users.

Yes, you need to purchase a second license if you want to use Office Home on two computers. See https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/p/office-home-2024/cfq7ttc0pqvj .
