I just downloaded 365 and paid the subscription. It won't install because I have the MontereyOS, I imagine. I had 365 until last week.
Can I still get 365 to work, or must I just download Office? If I can only do Office, which version? I have a MacBook Pro (Mid 2015) with a 17-inch display, a 2.2-GHz processor, and 16 GB of memory.
I am beyond frustrated. :(

This still didn't work for me. I downloaded it and went through the installation process. Then, it wants to look for updates. The updater is able to apply updates for Defender and OneDrive. But, for Excel, OneNote, Word, and PowerPoint it says MacOS Upgrade is required. When I click on the question mark I get:
This update requires macOS 14.0 or later.
I am running 12.
I am running 12.7.6 and I can't seem to find a path to upgrade this Mac beyond that. Any other assistance would be appreciated!
That's odd, I'm running 16.89 under Monterey here. Try the 16.88 installer, then run Help>Check for Updates to update it.

You can still use Microsoft 365. You need to get the latest version of Office that works on macOS Monterey, which is 16.88.
You can download it here : https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdates/update-history-office-for-mac
It's the one from August 13, 2024.
Download the Office suite, and install it on your Mac.
Once done, log in your Microsoft account, and you should be good to go.

I just downloaded 365 for the year...didn't matter. It was looking for a MacOS upgrade. When I go to About This Mac....I don't have an ability to upgrade. I am stuck on Monterey.
You can use Microsoft 365 on your Mac, but it is important to note that the version of Microsoft 365 you have may not include the desktop applications if you are subscribed to Microsoft 365 Business Basic, which only covers the web and mobile apps. If you need to use Word, Excel, and Outlook on your Mac, you will need to install the desktop version of Office.
Since you mentioned that you have MontereyOS, you should be able to install a compatible version of Office. You might want to check which version of Office is the most recent that can run on your Mac. Typically, you would need to download the latest version that supports your operating system.
If you have previously had Microsoft 365, you should be able to reinstall it as long as your subscription is active. Make sure to sign in with the same account you used for your subscription when installing.
