This has been reported as fixed in Version 2602.
I can confirm that this fixed it on my machine.

Charles - This is very encouraging news however, Microsoft does not list v2602 as to fixing the numbering issue. Can you double confirm?
Jason, you can easily test it for yourself. In version 2602, the style separator works as expected again. See the screen shot below.

This is a really big issue for Legal in the US! Please Microsoft fix this ASAP!

A workaround can be to roll back to version 2511.
