How to fix MS Word has run into an error that is preventing from working properly. Word will need to be closed as a result.

    Perform an Office Online Repair:

    1. Go to Start > Settings > System > Apps > Installed apps.
    2. Find Microsoft Office in the list, click the three-dot (ellipsis) icon, and select Modify.
    3. Choose Online Repair, then click Repair.

    Install using click-to-run

    MS Word was updated on my Mac February 5th and hasn't been right since.? How do I modify or restore Word defaults on my Macbook Pro ?
