Pop up is showing up that my computer is infected with a virus

Whilst using Microsoft Edge my computer got infected with a pop up in the bottom right corner saying that my PC is infected with a virus. I run MacAfee antivirus software but this didn't help, no computer viruses had been detected. How can I get rid of this problem?Screenshot 2026-02-07 215241.png

Hello

This is fake. It is no difference than other notification/pop up, except with the fake content to make it look like your computer has been infected.

Go to Edge settings, make sure pop up is blocked, and clear the "allowed list"
edge://settings/privacy/sitePermissions/allPermissions/popups

Then go to Notification settings, use the Ask Before option, and also clear the "allowed list"
edge://settings/privacy/sitePermissions/allPermissions/notifications
