I want to change the email associated with Microsoft 365. How can I change it to my other account?

I have two Microsoft accounts. My hotmail email address is the one I used when I bought Microsoft 365. I want to change it to my outlook email address so that my outlook address is the one associated with Teams. How do I do this? When I follow directions, I get a message that says "the email is already in use." Which of course it is. I want to switch the primary account (hotmaill) but it won't let me use my other email (the outlook one).

How do I get my outlook account to be associated with my hotmail account without losing all of my outlook emails and content?

So if I understand correctly, the outlook.com address is on a different Microsoft account, right?

In this case, unfortunately, you cannot add an existing outlook.com address in another Microsoft account. You also cannot delete it and bring it over, because Microsoft doesn't allow recycling email address, so even if you delete it, it is gone forever.

What you need to do is to cancel the subscription on the hotmail.com account. Please go to https://account.live.com

Sign into hotmail.com. Then go to Subscriptions. Click on Manage for the subscription plan you want to cancel.

Next, you can sign up with your outlook.com address.
