Hello, after replacing defective hardware (CPU/motherboard), I am now having problems activating Windows.

After two days of unsuccessfully trying to fix the problem, I now need help from either Microsoft AI or a Microsoft employee.

Unfortunately, I can't find any way to establish such a contact for my private Microsoft account...

Can anyone here possibly help me? Thanks in advance.

Hello, Daniel Bleisteiner.

Not all types of licenses allow the OS to be migrated to another device. The full standalone (BOX or ESD) version of Windows has this right (clause 4 of the EULA). If you can't solve the problem yourself (neither through "Change key", nor through the Command Line, nor through "Troubleshooting..."), then to contact a Microsoft support specialist, log in to your MS account on the page https://support.microsoft.com/en-US/home/contact?SourceApp=smc2&ContactUsExperienceEntryPointAssetId=www.microsoft.com

In the search bar, type (without quotes) "agent support" and press Enter or click on Get Help. Ignore the search results, and click on the "Contact Support" button at the bottom. On the next page, select "Windows" and "Technical Support" from the drop-down lists, and then click on "Confirm". Next, select the chat "Chat with a support agent in your web browser" and on the next page, enter (if requested) your (the one that works) email address and click on "Confirm". A chat window will open in a new tab. Wait for the specialist's response and explain the situation to him. If everything is in order with the license, then activation will be carried out.

    2. "Get Help" app refused my login cause its a private account..
    3. iam ony speaking to an KI when calling a free german hotline
    4. "Activation Troublshooter" always tells me "Activation on this device not possible". When I go to "I have changes hardware components recently" - At first it showed me my "old" pc with windows 10. After I have removed it from my account, "Troubleshooter" tells me there a no devices to switch from.

To contact Microsoft support for issues related to Windows activation after hardware changes, you can follow these steps:

    1. Visit the Microsoft Support website: Go to the official Microsoft Support page where you can find various support options.
    2. Use the "Get Help" app: On your Windows device, type "Get Help" in the search bar and open the app. You can chat with an agent or request a call back.
    3. Contact via Phone: You can call Microsoft Customer Service & Technical Support at 1-800-642-7676 for assistance.
    4. Activation Troubleshooter: If you haven't already, you can try running the Activation Troubleshooter in Windows settings to see if it resolves your issue.

If you are still unable to resolve the activation issue, contacting Microsoft directly through these channels is recommended for personalized support.
