I have a Microsoft 365 Basic subscription but in the last two weeks my desktop Word keeps telling me to activate Microsoft 365 and when I put in my account email it tells me there is no license associated with my email. My plan renewed in May 2025.

I logged out of Word and logged back in, I also reinstalled Microsoft 365 but I still get the same prompt to activate and the response that there is no license associated with my account.

Can you help???

The cheap Microsoft 365 Basic subscription does not include the ability to install the Office apps on your computer, that only entitles you to 100GB of OneDrive storage, you can also use the free Office apps in a web browser.

It is only the Microsoft 365 Personal or Family subscriptions that include the option to install the Office apps locally on your computer.

Log into your Microsoft account on this link, is it the Microsoft 365 Basic subscription you have signed up to and is the expiry date indicated correctly for that subscription.
