How can I use my Microsoft 365 Family subscription on my Mac with OS 13.7.8

My family has a subscription to Microsoft 365. I have an older MacBook Air with Ventura 13.7.8 (it's not giving me the option to update the OS). I want specifically to download and use Outlook on my device because I have a pst file from my old job that I want to upload. My understanding is that I can't upload it to the web version of Outlook. Any ideas?

Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

Microsoft 365 for Mac, Office 2024 for Mac, and Office 2021 for Mac support the three most recent major versions of Apple’s macOS.

As of September 2025, those versions are macOS Tahoe, macOS Sequoia, and macOS Sonoma.

In this situation, you can download an older version of the Office packages from the Update History page, which will work on your device.

If you're running macOS 12 (Monterey), you can run Office 16.88. At the History page, look for the Office Suite Installer, with Teams.

For Ventura MAC OS 13, (Ventura) you can run Office 16.100.

Download the full installer, not the separate package.

Install the Office packages and sign in with your Microsoft account to use Office. Ensure you remove all previous Office apps from the Applications folder before installing older versions.

To use your Microsoft 365 Family subscription on your Mac with macOS Ventura 13.7.8, you can download and install the full desktop version of Outlook. Since you have a subscription, you should be able to access the desktop apps, including Outlook, which will allow you to import your PST file.

Here are the steps you can follow:

    1. Go to the Microsoft 365 website and sign in with your Microsoft account associated with your Family subscription.
    2. Look for the option to download the desktop apps. You should see an option for "Other Install Options" or "Download full desktop apps."
    3. Download and install Outlook from there.
    4. Once installed, you can open Outlook and import your PST file by going to the File menu and selecting the import option.

If you encounter any issues finding the download option, ensure that your subscription is active and that you are logged in with the correct account.
