Windows 11 Pro Updates failing beginning with KB5077181

Hello - I'm using Windows 11 Pro and am not able to successfully update beginning with Security Update KB5077181 on February 11, 2026. I sought online help a couple of weeks ago, but the update continues to fail. Would appreciate any help and/or advice to fix the problem, Thanks.

I am having the same issue.

Just happened today.

Currently running corruption scans before i even think about clicking the reinstall now button... which sometimes can fail aswell and den lose your data.

It's frustrating when this happens & I hope your issue is resolved soon. I am not very knowledgeable about these things, so I wound up going to Windows Support to receive help. Though they did everything they could, the problem continued until I checked Windows Update a few days ago and found a Windows 11 Pro Repair Version ready to download and install. I crossed my fingers and clicked - and it worked... updates are now current and everything is working as it should, and I am thankful. Good luck to you, hope it's an easy fix :)

Use DISM or PowerShell to install the package From an elevated command prompt (Run as administrator):

I would try the recovery option first. Go to Settings > System > Recovery > Fix problems using widows update, then select Reinstall now.

Thanks very much, Neil D - I wasn't aware of this option, but have noted it for future in case this happens again. In my case, Windows Update wound up sending me a link to Windows 11 Pro Repair Version, and it fixed and reinstalled Windows without touching any of my files and it's working well now.
