Hi MOHAMMAD RAIS,
Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A!
I understand that it can feel confusing when printing works but behaves unpredictably if you do other actions. To better help you, can you share with me the exact error message you received? It’d also be helpful to know the printer model and how it connected to the laptop (cable or wireless).
In the meantime, I have a few suggestions that you can try out with what the Q&A Assist has given:
1 - Reset the Print Spooler properly
- Press Win + R > type
services.msc > press Enter
- Find and right-click Print Spooler > select Stop
- Open File Explorer > go to
C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS
- Delete all files in this folder (they are temporary print jobs)
- Go back to Services window > right‑click Print Spooler > Start
2 - Check for drivers issue
- Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners
- Select your printer > click Remove (and unplug) > Restart the PC
- Visit the printer manufacturer’s website (HP / Canon / Brother / etc.)
- Download and install the exact driver for your model > reconnect printer.
3 - If the printer uses network / Wi‑Fi to connect
- Press Win + R > type
control > press Enter to open Control Panel
- Choose Devices and Printers > right‑click printer > Printer properties
- Open the Ports tab > if it starts with
WSD, switch to Standard TCP/IP Port.
The behavior you described is often caused by print spooler congestion or an unsuitable printer driver, not the printer itself, and the above solutions should help somewhat. But to be sure, the more details are given, the better it is!
