Azure billing

I am unable to reach Azure billing support due to multiple blocking issues:

  • Azure portal does not allow me to create a support ticket (infinite loop)
  • Phone support redirects me back to the website
  • Consumer support cannot assist with Azure (no access to commercial systems)
  • Microsoft 365 admin center is not accessible (I am not an admin)

I was charged for an Azure Developer Support Plan that I accidentally subscribed to, and I have not used it at all.

At this point, I have no valid support channel.

Could a moderator please help escalate this to Azure billing support or assist in creating a support request?

Hello 実 松本, you’re getting stuck in loops trying to reach Azure billing. Here are the steps you can follow to create support requests:

  • Go to Azure portal > Search for Help + Support or https://portal.azure.com/#view/Microsoft_Azure_Support/HelpAndSupportBlade/~/overview
  • Click on Create a Support Request.
  • On right-side panel, enter Billing and click Go > select the issue with "Billing" > select your Subscription then click Next. User's image User's image
  • Do not click on refund request button or any suggested articles instead click on the Create support request on top of the panel. User's image
    • Select the Issue type as Billing and, select the summary, problem type and problem subtype as per your issue like below > then click on Next.
  • Do not click on refund request button or any recommendation solution/article, instead click on the Return to support request then click Next. User's image
    • Fill all the required information and provide a clear description of your issue and click Next.
    • Review and create as submit the support request.
    • You should receive an automated email within a few minutes and then be contacted by support team.

Kindly check the below documentation for more details: How to create an Azure support request - Azure supportability | Microsoft Learn

Hi,

Please carefully follow my instructions below to create new billing support request without getting stuck in endless loop. That way you can speak to billing engineer.

4. Select your subscription from the dropdown and click Next

5. At this point there will be a delay of several seconds, and then various options will be displayed. Click Create a support request button at the top. DO NOT CLICK any of the other options.

6. Fill out screen, Summary, Problem type, Problem subtype, then click Next button at bottom. You may need to select different Problem/subtype than shown below

7. There will be another several second delay, and then some solutions will be displayed (this is similar to above). DO NOT CLICK any of the solutions, instead click on Return to support request button in upper left corner, similar to below

8. Now you are back at support case. Click Next button at bottom to continue to Additional details tab. Fill out information as required, one of the items you may need is your Subscription ID.

You can open separate browser tab and navigate to your subscription in portal, the ID is there, click the copy button to the right of it, then paste it into the box on Additional details tab. Click Next to advance to Review + create tab, then click Create.

You should receive an automated email within a few minutes and then be contacted by support within 1 business day.

Additionally, please turn off Auto renew on your support plan to avoid future charges, which will revert it to Basic once it reaches renewal date. Please follow instructions below and let me know if you receive any errors.

In the Azure portal, please navigate to Cost Management + Billing using link below:

https://portal.azure.com/#blade/Microsoft_Azure_GTM/ModernBillingMenuBlade

On left, click Products + services -- All billing subscriptions blade. Click on context menu (three dots) to the right of the Microsoft Azure Support line and choose Change renewal setting.

In the flyout window on right, select Off and click Save.

The above will cause your Developer support plan to expire on the date shown and not be automatically renewed, resulting in it reverting to Basic.

Please click Accept Answer and upvote if the above was helpful.

Thanks.
