Bitlocker recovery key not working

My Windows 11 laptop displayed the blue Bitlocker screen. It wasn’t after a reboot. And the drive is my OS drive.

I don’t have the key backed up on a file, but was able to find it after logging into my Microsoft account.

There were multiple keys from previous laptops I’d owned and verified I was using the correct one by referencing the first 8 characters of the Recovery Key ID and Drive Label.

Unfortunately, after entering the 48 digit recovery key, it displays “the recovery key is incorrect” error message.

I’ve carefully checked that I’m entering the corresponding key, but no go.

Is there anything I can do? Thank you.

    Nevermind.

I tried entering an older recovery key and got the failed to recover with that key error. Then I re-entered the “correct” key and was able to continue. I’m working now.

And I know this totally sounds like a typing error on my first attempt, but I swear that I compared every set of six digits of the recovery key multiple times.
