In the personalization settings, I selected “Picture” from the “Personalize your background” dropdown menu. However, even after choosing the image I want to keep as my permanent desktop background, it changes every day. How can I fix this so it stays as the image I selected?

Hello, I'm Quinn and here to help!

Since you already selected Picture, try resetting your theme:

  1. Go to Settings > Personalization > Themes.
  2. If you’re using a custom or active theme, switch it to the default Windows theme.
  3. Then go back to Background and set your preferred image.

You can also check if the Bing Wallpaper app is installed, as it can override your background:

  1. Go to Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
  2. Search for Bing Wallpaper.
  3. If found, click the three dots on the right and select Uninstall.

I have Windows 11 Pro 25H2 with all updates. Here is what I have selected, and my photo stays the same, it does not change. Did you choose your photo and then make sure it is selected out of the photos that are showing?
