Hello Microsoft Support Team, my original Microsoft account appears to have been either deleted or stolen without my knowledge. When I tried signing in today, I received an error stating that an account with my email address does not exist. I want to clarify that I did not receive any emails about suspicious activity, password changes, or account inactivity. I still have proof of ownership (including purchase receipts, if activating free minecraft capes counts as purchase, and previous correspondence), but unfortunately, the account recovery form doesn’t allow me to upload images or documents to verify my identity. The account in question used the same email address and username as the one I’m messaging from now, since I thought that creating same account would fix everything. Since I’ve had to create a new Microsoft account using the same email and the old one seems to be gone, I’m kindly asking if it’s possible to recover my original account or at least transfer the Minecraft purchase to this newly created account.

  1. Please let me know:Whether my old account was permanently deleted or possibly compromised.
  2. If there’s a way to submit my documentation or proof of ownership to assist in verifying my claim.
  3. Whether my Minecraft purchase can be restored or transferred to this account if recovery isn’t possible.

Thank you for your time and help with this matter. I just want to recover access to what I legitimately own. I attached one of the screenshots that can be proof that this account is mine (I can uncensor it)Screen Shot 2026-04-14 at 11.53.54.316 PM

Hey there! Nice to meet you!

Based on your description, your Microsoft account was compromised. The hacker was able to remove the account's primary email address/security info and replace it with their own email address, which is why you received the error account doesn't exist when signing in.

Since the security info has been replaced by the hacker, I'm afraid there is no other working method to recover the Microsoft account, and Microsoft Support cannot help either.

It is also not possible to transfer any purchased license (games/apps etc.) from one Microsoft account to another.

Thank you for your understanding.

Best regards,

Darhyl
