About the beginning of October 2025 a lady named [Moderator note: PII removed] has taken my on line ID [Moderator note: PII removed]@hotmail. Am I going to have to sue you in court to get my account back?

    Hi Harry Rodriguez,

I understand how concerning it is to lose access to your account, especially when you believe it was taken over by someone else.

Please note that this is a user‑to‑user forum, so contributors here cannot access accounts, review security details, or make changes on your behalf. For Microsoft personal accounts, there isn’t a direct email address to report an account takeover. Account recovery and security reviews are handled only through Microsoft’s official recovery and support channels.

You can try the following options:

1, Use the official recovery guidance first

This article walks through the standard recovery approach for a compromised account (including scanning for malware, resetting the password, and checking mailbox settings such as forwarding and automatic replies): How to recover a hacked or compromised Microsoft account - Microsoft Support

2, Submit an account recovery request

If you no longer have access to the account, use the recovery form to request ownership verification: https://account.live.com/acsr. Make sure to provide as much accurate information as possible, as this is the primary method used to review account ownership.

For detailed guidance on completing the form, please refer to: Help with the Microsoft account recovery form - Microsoft Support

3, Contact Microsoft Support via live chat

If the recovery form does not help or you believe the account was compromised for a long time, you can contact Support directly:

    1. Visit the Microsoft Support contact page: Contact - Microsoft Support
    2. In the search bar provided on the page, type "Account Recovery" and press Enter.
    3. Click on the "Get Help" button that appears.
    4. Scroll down the page until you see and click on the "Contact Support" option.
    5. When prompted to select your product or service, choose "Other Products".
    6. For the category, choose "Manage Account Security".
    7. Look for and click on "Chat with a support agent in your web browser".
    8. When prompted, provide a valid contact email where Microsoft can reach you regarding your case.
    9. Explain your situation clearly: Be concise but provide all the relevant details.

I hope the steps above help point you in the right direction, and I look forward to any updates you’re able to share.
