Keys like U, I, and O when clicked it types 4 - U, I - 5 and 6 - I. Same with H, J and K. While M when clicked its registering as 0. This happened after a force update on my windows 11 laptop. I know I need to see a tech to solve this but im trying if this can be fixed through your help guys.

The keyboard is acting as if the embedded numeric keypad is enabled. On many laptops, keys like U, I, O, J, K, L, M double as number-pad keys (4, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3, 0) when Num Lock or a function layer is turned on.

To fix this, disable the numeric keypad / function layer:

    1. Look for a NumLock, Num Lk, or a padlock-with-number icon on one of the keys (often combined with F-keys or another key like F11, Insert, or ScrLk).
    2. Press Fn + (that NumLock key) once to toggle it off.
    3. Test the affected keys (U, I, O, J, K, L, M). They should now type letters again.

If the issue persists after toggling NumLock:

    1. Check for stuck Fn or NumLock keys and gently press them a few times.
    2. Test in Safe Mode or with an external keyboard:
      • If an external keyboard works normally, the built-in keyboard may have a hardware or firmware issue.
      • If both keyboards show the same behavior, it is likely a software/driver setting.
    3. Check for debris or physical issues under the affected keys and clean carefully with compressed air, as intermittent key issues can be caused by debris.

If none of the above resolves it and the behavior started immediately after a Windows update, roll back any keyboard-related software changes or consider a system reset while keeping files, as a last resort.
