Purchased Office 2024 license from Microsoft today, 5.7.26. The installer downloaded Office 2021. Please correct this issue immediately, or refund the purchase.

Hi,

Log in to your Microsoft account used for the purchase here: https://account.microsoft.com/services

Does it show Office Home 2024 or Office Home 2021?

If it shows Office Home 2024, the issue may be caused by an older Office version still installed on your computer. In this case, I suggest uninstalling all existing Office versions first, then reinstalling Office directly from your Microsoft account to avoid conflicts.

Please follow these steps:

  1. In the search bar, type Control Panel and press Enter.
  2. Go to Programs > Programs and Features.
  3. Locate any version of Microsoft Office or Office apps installed on your computer.
  4. Right click each Office entry and select Uninstall.
  5. Make sure all older or leftover Office versions are removed.
  6. Restart your computer after the uninstall process is completed.

Then reinstall Office using these steps:

  1. Go to: https://account.microsoft.com/services
  2. Sign in to the Microsoft account used for the purchase.
  3. Locate Microsoft Office 2024 and click Install.
  4. Run the downloaded installer and follow the on screen instructions.

Once installation is completed, open Word, Excel, or any Office app, then sign in with the same Microsoft account used for the purchase to activate Office.
