The Microsoft Flight Simulator Support Group using the zendesk app has provided the answer. Do not attempt to download from the Microsoft Store, instead use the X-Box app on your computer, sign in with your Microsoft account and the purchase is listed under My Library. It downloads fine from there.
Purchased Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Aviator Edition over a week ago. Still won't download.
In Microsoft Store the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Aviator Edition tag says owned. On clicking on that, the page appears with the Install button. Once clicked it says Getting ready - Queueing, then after ten seconds reverts to Retry with a red X below and the caption something went wrong. Click on that and your get the message We're aware of the issue and working to fix it. Try again later. and the error code 0X80070490.
To save you time regurgitating the cut and paste advice elsewhere on this programme, I have run WSRESET.EXE three times, no change. I have the same account and date/time/region settings as I purchased the simulator running and have made no changes. My windows update is up to date.
The problem is at your end clearly. Are you actually working on it as the message states? If so, when can we expect a resolution of the issue?
Finally, if you can't provide the service I have purchased any time soon, how do I apply for the money back?
