Eventually Windows sent some pop ups to my monitor. After selecting Troubleshoot computer, I got more popups and selected Uninstall last update. It did the uninstall, and now the computer is back working properly.
Startup issue with WIN 11

After an Update and Shutdown selection, my Windows 11 Dell pc reboots into standby mode for 2 more sec, then screen goes black. A hard shutdown did not resolve the issue. Removing power for several minutes also did not resolve it.

2026-05-17T19:33:47.4533333+00:00 the answer provided did not correct the issue. After the Windows 11 Dell pc Start button is pressed it briefly shows a message on the display that reads the computer will go into Standby after 2 more sec. Then the system seems to lockup and will not come out of Standby.
This all started after my last use when I selected the option Update and Shut Down.
