Hello,

I just fresh installed win11 25h2, but if i log into my google account on Microsoft Edge Version 148.0.3967.70, initially all google sites work fine. but after a while edge refuses to load ANY google domains (google.com, youtube, youtube music etc). I have to manually clear accounts.google.com cookies and sometimes google.com cookies as well in the settings for all google sites to load again. Is there any fix for this?

I checked when edge refuse to load google sites, that if I use edge InPrivate mode, or Firefox, google sites load fine. I am not using any extensions, Microsoft edge settings are all default

Solution:

go to edge://flags
Disable Device Bound Session Credentials (Standard)

after analyzing network logs when google stuck on loading, it is apparent that DBSC hangs

    Hello hydro,

Thanks for coming back to share what fixed it.

Device Bound Session Credentials is a newer thing Edge picked up where your Google sign-in gets tied to a key on the device, and Edge has to keep checking in with Google to refresh it in the background. If that check gets stuck, anything you try to load on Google just sits there waiting — which is why clearing the accounts.google.com cookies kept getting you moving again, it was forcing a fresh session. Switching the flag off skips that whole refresh dance, so nothing hangs.

The downside you ran into is the catch with it though — once Edge isn't doing the device-bound thing anymore, Google sees the session as less trusted and starts throwing reCAPTCHAs and logging you out every few hours.

Thank you for contributing to the community.

This behavior is consistent with corrupted or stale cookies/auth tokens for Google domains in Microsoft Edge. Use the following steps to address it:

    1. Clear Google-related cookies and cache once
      1. Open Edge and go to edge://settings/privacy.
      2. Under Clear browsing data, select Choose what to clear.
      3. Set Time range to All time.
      4. Select at least:
        • Cookies and other site data
        • Cached images and files
      5. Select Clear now.
      6. Restart Edge and sign in to your Google account again, then test Google sites.
    2. Check for sign-in or token issues
      • If sign-in tokens are getting into a bad state, a full cookie clear as above usually stabilizes things.
      • If the issue recurs only when signed in, repeat step 1 and then:
        • Temporarily avoid signing into multiple Google profiles in the same Edge profile.
    3. Verify Edge is up to date and repair if needed
      1. In Edge, go to Settings and more (⋯) > Settings > About Microsoft Edge and let it update if an update is available.
      2. If problems persist, repair Edge:
        1. Close Edge for all users.
        2. Go to Start > Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
        3. Select Microsoft Edge > Modify.
        4. Approve the UAC prompt and select Repair.
        5. After repair, test again with a fresh sign-in to Google.
    4. Test with a new Edge profile
      1. Go to edge://settings/profiles.
      2. Add a new profile.
      3. In that new profile, do not import anything; just sign into Google and test.
      • If the new profile works reliably, the original profile’s stored data was likely corrupted; use the new profile going forward.

If the issue continues after these steps, collect diagnostic data (Edge version from edge://settings/help, network trace from edge://net-export/) and contact Microsoft Support, as recommended in the sign-in troubleshooting guidance.
