2 in 1 Laptop Touchscreen suddenly unresponsive / HID-compliant touch screen missing

I have a touchscreen laptop, and today the touch functionality just completely died. Tap, swipe, nothing works. I went into Device Manager to see if I could disable/enable it, but the "HID-compliant touch screen" driver under Human interface devices is completely missing, even when I show hidden devices. Has anyone seen this happen before?

The touch screen issue likely stems from a failed hardware handshake or ACPI power state error. To resolve this, perform a hard power cycle by holding the power button for thirty seconds to force hardware re-enumeration. If the driver remains missing, use Device Manager to scan for hardware changes, check for firmware-level recognition in your BIOS/UEFI, or reinstall the manufacturer's official chipset and serial I/O drivers.
