Need help with a hotmail account

I have another hotmail account I've been using for a very long time, recently I got a weird email requesting a code for a password change. Worried I tried logging into my account but kept getting "You've tried to sign in too many times with an incorrect account or password" error. I tried changing my password and was able to get into my account and worried I decided to turn on 2FA hoping it would just send a code to my phone to sign in. After that when trying to sign in again I got the same error and when I tried to get a code it did not give me the option to use my phone number but either a passkey, fingerprint, or USB (Which I have none of). After that I tried changing the password for several unsuccessful days again but I am now getting "There's a temporary problem with the service" Every time I try and get either a second code for my phone or email. I have tried using the account recovery form and was emailed that because I have 2FA enabled my request will be ignored and after trying my 25 digit account recovery code I still get the same "There's a temporary problem with the service" I am at a lost and don't know what to do, this account has over 15 years of saved emails and my main account for all my non-business stuff. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Ryan Boysie,

I understand that you are locked out of your Hotmail account after changing the password and turning on two-step verification. Since the recovery form and recovery code option have already not worked for you, the remaining official route is to contact Microsoft Support through the account support channel.

Please note that this is a user-to-user forum, so contributors cannot access accounts, change verification methods, or bypass Microsoft account security. Microsoft Support can review the available account recovery options, but account security checks cannot be manually bypassed.

You may contact Microsoft Support by live chat using these steps:

1, Visit the Microsoft Support contact page: Contact - Microsoft Support

2, In the search bar provided on the page, type "Account recovery" and press Enter.

3, Click on the "Get Help" button that appears.

4, Scroll down the page until you see and click on the "Contact Support" option.

5, When prompted to select your product or service, choose "Other Products".

6, For the category, choose "Manage account security".

7, Look for and click on "Chat with a support agent in your web browser".

8, Confirm your personal email when prompted - this is the email Microsoft will use to communicate with you during and after the support session.

9, When connected, clearly explain your situation. Be concise but include all relevant details.

I hope this helps you reach the correct Microsoft account support channel for your situation.
