Cannot save file due to 'The save failed due to lack of memory or disk space.'

Dear Microsoft,

I cannot save file due to 'The save failed due to lack of memory or disk space.' But my memory is still sufficient. I have restarted Word, but to no avail.

Hi,

As a troubleshooting step, if you copy all the contents, paste it into a new document, does it help save the file?

#2:

  1. Open Finder.
  2. Press Command + Shift + G to open the “Go to Folder” window.
  3. Copy and paste the following path, then press Return: ~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.Word/Data/Library/Preferences
  4. Locate and delete any files named:
    • AutoRecovery
    • ~Word Work File
  5. Restart the Mac and open Word again.
