Yep - this is very likely spam or a phishing attempt.

The wording you described (“Cloud-Storage-Desk - payment failure”) is a classic tactic used to create urgency and make you panic about your Microsoft 365 or cloud storage subscription. Even if you have no issues with your account, scammers send these messages broadly hoping someone will click.

A few red flags here are the generic sender name (“Cloud-Storage-Desk”), vague branding that doesn’t match official Microsoft emails, and the “payment failure” scare language without any specific account details that only Microsoft would actually know. Legit Microsoft billing emails usually come from clearly identifiable Microsoft domains and will reference your account in a precise, verifiable way.

The safest assumption is that this is junk. Do not click any links, download attachments, or reply to it. Instead, mark it as spam or phishing in your email client so your inbox filters improve over time.

If you’re ever unsure, you can manually check your Microsoft 365 subscription by logging in directly through the official Microsoft website or app (not through any link in the email). If there were actually a payment problem, it would show up there.
