OneDrive takes up too much space on my laptop. If I needed those files on OneDrive to be so accessible, I'd have them on my laptop. I do not need OneDrive using my laptop's space. I want it to stop.

Right click on the OneDrive cloud icon on the lower right on your taskbar to go to Settings.
On the "Sync and Backup" tab, click on "Advanced Settings" to expand that section. Then under File On-Demand, click on "Free up disk space".
Emily -- thank you so much for guiding me to that setting. Who knows why I did not get this from Microsoft? Right before I saw your post, my laptop was choking again as the disk space was down to nearly zero. Why don't the engineers know to set a limit? Was just trying to scan something and couldn't scan due to lack of disk space. Microsoft -- do you want me to create a file? Or would you rather me go to Google and work on their servers instead?
Emily, not long after changing that setting, I went back to the scanner and was able to finish that task of scanning receipts, etc. Thank you!
