Email is accidentally associated with two accounts

Alright, so I am a minecraft player who transfered my account from Java to Xbox successfully years ago. Until, one day, I accidentally logged in using my email in some way that created a second account instead of logging into my normal one.

Now, when I use my email, it always sends me to the second account where I don't own minecraft. I have verified that the minecraft account still exists... somewhere.

So I tried to de-allias the wrong account from my email and transfer it to another email. But now when I log in with the original email, when I log in the minecraft launcher, it says there is no account that exists under that email. Meanwhile I log in online and the email STILL links to the wrong account.

I just want to recover access to my account, any way that's possible.

Hi StarRushi

I understand how confusing it must be to see your email address linked to a different account than the one holding your Minecraft profile. From your description, it seems like the Minecraft license still exists, but the email is no longer tied to the Microsoft account that originally received the migration.

Since Minecraft ownership is bound to the Microsoft account itself, not to whichever alias is currently attached, changing aliases does not transfer entitlements. It's also worth noting that Microsoft accounts cannot be merged. This makes the issue falls into one of account ownership and recovery situations.

Unfortunately, Microsoft Q&A is just a public community forum, and this is not something contributors here can directly investigate or resolve. We do not have access to Microsoft account records, aliases, or licenses. The only way forward is to contact support team directly so they can securely review your information real time:

  1. Visit Contact Us - Microsoft Support > Sign in
  2. Type in your problem > click Get Help to make request
  3. Scroll to the bottom and click Contact Support to connect to agent
  4. Select category again > continue and you should be added to a chat queue.
  5. If you don't see the chat option, choose other related categories and request escalate.

Note: The support contact team only works at certain times, so if the last window shows that it's unavailable, try opening it again the next day. If you prefer phone support, you can leave a phone number. This way, they can call you and help you.

I wish I could be a greater help in your situation, but account-related issues often involve privacy information that should not and cannot be proceeded on public platform. Be prepared that support may require proof of ownership before they can discuss recovery options.
