Print Scaling (Scale option) missing/hidden in Microsoft Edge

Hi everyone,

I am experiencing an issue where the "Scale" (print scaling percentage) option has completely disappeared from my Microsoft Edge print preview panel.

Normally, after clicking "More settings," the Scale option should appear near Paper Size, Margins, or Options. However, in my Edge browser, it is totally gone (as shown in the attached screenshot, where it only displays "Fewer settings" with no Scale dropdown available anywhere).

Here are some details about my current situation:

  • Scenario: I am trying to save/print academic journal/paper webpages as PDF files.
  • Target Printer: "Save as PDF" (the button at the bottom shows "Save").

I second this issue. I use Microsoft Edge "Save to PDF" scaling every day for my work, and after closing Edge for an update, the scaling option went missing. The scaling option was still available for printers, though. However, after going to Edge's Settings, clicking "About Microsoft Edge", and letting Edge update from v.150.0.4078.65 to v.150.0.4078.83, the scaling option for "Save to PDF" returned for me. Please let me know if updating Edge restores the scaling option for you, as well.

    Hello Huibin Mo,

Save as PDF is Edge's own built-in export destination, and that panel is a trimmed-down one that leaves out Scale and most layout controls. If you switch the printer to Microsoft Print to PDF, the Scale option should come back.

Although it's worded "Print", you would still end up with a PDF file, so for your journal pages this gets you the scaling control you were missing.
