purchased Microsoft 365 with laptop. Enter details but fails when trying to set up recurring payment

When I have tried again I get a message, Product Key Confirmed 12 month subscription expiring 17/08/2027. But when I try to enter recurring bank details it accepts details, says will be set up in 1 minute then fails to set up and suggests either try again later or contact support. I've checked my account, my card details are saved in payment options.

I don't know what is causing the problem but unable to use the software.

Hi Karen,

I'm going to run through a few steps with you. Some of these are diagnostic — they help me narrow down what's wrong, not fix it outright. So if nothing changes after a step, that's normal and expected, not a dead end. I'll keep going until we've got this resolved.

First, ensure that the saved card has International Transactions and Online/E-commerce purchases explicitly enabled.

Second, try completing the setup or managing the payment option using a completely different web browser, or open an InPrivate / Incognito window.

Third, log directly into the Microsoft Account Services & Subscriptions Dashboard. Locate the Microsoft 365 subscription. If there is an option to Turn off recurring billing, select it, since it is confirmed.

If it does not help, I will route you to a billing agent.

I look forward to hearing from you to get the results of the troubleshooting.
