Someone has created the Outlook/Hotmail account ******@hotmail.com and is impersonating me.

The account is being used to contact members of our board while pretending to be me. This is an attempt to deceive recipients and may be part of a fraud.

Can Microsoft act and investigate this account and take appropriate action?

Hello,

Please go here https://msrc.microsoft.com/report/

scroll down and find the outlook spam option to report impersonation.

Because this appears to involve impersonation and possible fraud, I also recommend reporting the matter to your local law enforcement agency. They may be able to investigate further, particularly if there is evidence of financial fraud, identity theft, or other criminal activity.
