Configuring preferences and options in Outlook on the web for business
Dear @Wright Nina,
If this is a Microsoft 365 work or school account, the phone number used for verification is usually managed through your organization's Security Info settings (Microsoft Entra ID).
I recommend the following:
- Sign in to https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info
- If you can still access another verification method (Microsoft Authenticator, alternate phone, or email), use it to sign in.
- Select Add sign-in method and add your new phone number.
- Once the new method is verified, remove the old phone number.
If the system only offers your old phone number and you no longer have access to it, you will need to contact your organization's Microsoft 365 administrator or IT Help Desk. Administrators can reset your MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) methods and require you to register new security information at your next sign-in. Please refer to this document: Sign in to your work or school account using two-step verification
Unfortunately, neither Microsoft Support nor forum advisors can update MFA details for a business account because these settings are controlled by the tenant administrator. Users typically need an alternative authentication method or administrator assistance to regain access. For official steps your administrator can follow, please refer to Microsoft's documentation on Manage authentication methods for Microsoft Entra multifactor authentication - Microsoft Entra ID
Please let me know if you need any further assistance.
