New Outlook (MS365) suddenly stopped showing current emails

Suddenly, Outlook stopped showing current emails. They show in my web version of yahoo, but they aren't showing in the inbox. If I do a search in Outlook, it finds them! And it says they are in the inbox. But when I look in the inbox, they are not there.

Hi Robert Hummel

If the emails are appearing in search and you've identified that they're being routed to Other instead of Focused, then it sounds like the issue is related to Focused Inbox rather than mail delivery or synchronization.

You can either:

  • Check both the Focused and Other tabs regularly, or
  • Disable Focused Inbox if you prefer to see all messages in a single Inbox view.

In New Outlook, go to Settings > Mail > Layout > Focused Inbox and turn it off if desired.

Since the emails are present and searchable, this appears to be working as designed rather than a problem with Yahoo mail synchronization.

I think I discovered what's happening. Incoming emails are divided into two categories... "Focused" and "Other." The emails I thought were missing went into "Other."
