I leave my laptop on most of the time, and hate it when I get to work in the morning and it has rebooted overnight. I have to open up the files I was working on, sometimes there were small edits and I didn't save and they are recovered with new file names. In Windows10 there was an icon that showed that a reboot needed to be done. Can I get that in Windows 11?

Hi Gail,

Thanks for your post. I totally understand you frustration in dealing with this issue. Windows 11 has provided the option to notify end user for a restart and set the available time to restart.

Kindly locate to the following: Setting-> Windows Update->Advanced options. Turn on the option ‘Notify me when a restart is required to finish updating’. Also, you can set the desired update period in ‘Active hours’.

Best Regards,

Ian Xue
