Can I delete a user that has a license assign?

Can I delete a user that has a license assign? or I have to remove the license first, the user does not belong to any group

Hi @Cinthia Rodriguez ,

as far as I know you can just delete the user in Microsoft 365 admin center even if a license is assigned to the user.

The license will be available in the license pool after the user is delete.

If you delete the user in PowerShell or any other way the license might be still assigned to the deleted user and you have to unassign the license manually.

Hello @Andreas Baumgarten and what about if the user belongs to a group and has a license assign from the group, can be delete it too?

if the license is assigned to a group the user is a member of the user can be deleted as well.

Hello Andre,

So a user can be delete it if it has a license assign to his user or if the license is assign by a group on which belongs to, either way, there are not issues with the deletion of the user, am I right?
