Azure for Students activation fails with error message “something wrong”

I am trying to activate the Azure for Students subscription using my academic email address. However, the activation fails and I receive an error message saying “something wrong.” I have confirmed that my email is valid and belongs to my educational institution. I’ve also tried clearing browser cache and using incognito mode, but the problem persists. Could someone please help me understand why this is happening and how to fix it so I can access the Azure student benefits?

Hello pravallika vetapalem,

If you are encountering an error message saying "something wrong" while trying to activate your Azure for Students subscription, it could be due to several reasons. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

  1. Check Eligibility: Ensure that you meet all the eligibility requirements for Azure for Students, including being a full-time student at an accredited institution and using a valid academic email address.
  2. Account Information: Verify that the information provided for your Azure account profile, including your email address, is correct. Any discrepancies can lead to activation issues.
  3. Clear Cache and Cookies: Although you mentioned you've tried clearing your browser cache, ensure that you also clear cookies or try a different browser altogether.
  4. Check for Existing Accounts: If you have previously created a Microsoft account with the same email address, it may cause conflicts. Ensure that there are no existing accounts that could interfere with the activation process.

If the problem still persists, contact Azure support for assistance. They can provide more specific guidance related to your account and the error you are experiencing.
