Can family members give away Giftcards earned through points?

I got the refer and earn offer and one family member just did it for me as a favour. Haven't gotten the bonus points yet, hope it fixes itself tomorrow once both of our account are supposed to get the double up for having completed all teh task. But their not gonna be using the points to buy anything because they don't have Xbox, don't play PC games and you can't giftcards to stores like Amazon in my country. So I was wondering is it allowed for the person you have refered, earning to points to gift the Xbox giftcards they'll be able to afford once they have enough points? Or is it meant to be locked to your Microsoft Xbox account and if I was to be gifted giftcards from the family member would that be breaking any rules that could result in a ban?

I thought it best to ask in advance and not lose out on my xbox account that I've had since the 360 just for some extra bucks.

Once your family member redeems their points for an Xbox gift card, they can share the digital code with you. Microsoft doesn’t place any restrictions on gifting redeemed gift cards.

As long as it’s a digital code, I’ve redeemed rewards before, and sometimes it’s not a code, but directly attached to your account, so it depends. For example, I redeemed some coins for Overwatch, and that came as a digital code, so it varies.
