you will find that Copilot app on Windows now uses Microsoft account (not work account).
"Copilot uses your Microsoft account to provide personalized assistance and access to a wide range of features."
Copilot app is just Edge browser app that shows copilot.microsoft.com. So, look at the Copilot App as Edge browser. Two things are important: what Edge profile your Copilot app is using and also, how are you signed in to copilot.microsoft.com within that profile. Check the top of the Copilot App Window:
Hope this helps.
I'm guessing you are using the same Edge profile for work and personal account, and you are logged in with both. Try creating new edge profile. In Edge browser, click on upper left corner, and select "Setup new personal profile". Login with your private Microsoft account. Then, start Copilot app. You may get the old message, but, click on the top of the window and select your new profile.
So is it the case that the co-pilot app will only work with a personal account and not a work one, on a domain joined computer?
This answer has nothing to do with the question about the copilot app not functioning.
You also assert that the website and an app are the same. They are not.
