laptop battery issue

I've been having some issues with my new laptop battery recently. It used to last for hours, but now it barely gives me an hour of use. The battery percentage drops really fast, and sometimes the laptop just turns off even when it shows 20-30% left. It also gets quite warm while charging, and it takes a lot longer to fully charge.

If those steps did not resolve the problem, then that battery is faulty, it would be best to return that battery under warranty and get a free replacement.

Yup, I’ve tried everything I could on my end, and I’m exhausted. I think you are right it’s time for me to just claim the battery directly under warranty and get a replacement.

thank u so much for your ideas :)

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Is that a new laptop or a new battery that you purchased for your laptop and if so, did you purchase a genuine OEM battery from the laptop manufacturer or from a 3rd party retailer?

    2
    In the meantime:

Open Device Manager (accessible by right clicking your Start Button)

    Expand the Batteries section

For each device in that section:

    Right click and choose Disable

Then right click and choose Enable

    Close Device Manager

Restart your laptop and check if the battery is charging correctly.

I purchased a new Laptop battery from 3rd party retailer. It was much cheaper than the OEM one, but now I'm wondering if that might be causing the issues. Could the battery itself be the problem?

    2

I tried disabling and enabling the devices under the Batteries section in Device Manager, then restarted the laptop, but unfortunately, it didn’t fix the issue. The battery is still not charging correctly. Any other suggestions?
