Hey, I have this issue that I can't activate my Windows 11. Apparently I don't have a product key, even though the laptop was store bought. I can't access many options yet I can't activate it. Help.

Thank you for the screenshots.

I see that you have Volume_KMS Client license.

VOLUME_KMSCLIENT channel means that you have an invalid license key. This type of key normally belongs to an organization with multiple computers activated with this KMS key using a KMS host. This type of key is not for personal use and not for resale.

You may need to buy a legit license either from the Microsoft Store or the Microsoft web store or to any authorized resellers.

I would advise you to contact the store where you bought the computer and ask if they can still provide you with a valid license key if that is included in your original purchase, also provide them with the original receipt.

Yes, it was installed by the shop worker. No, it doesn't show a key. But there is a key inside the pc I saw via Registry editor.

The current volume licence is not valid for a personal user. Did you have Windows 11 Pro installed on the laptop when you bought it.

Open a command prompt (Admin) and enter

wmic path SoftwareLicensingService get OA3xOriginalProductKey [press return] does it display a 25 character licence key.?

Hi, I am an Independent Advisor.

Let me help you with this issue.

I understand you are having problems activating Windows 11.

May I know if you bought the license separate?

Have you tried running the Windows Activation troubleshooter?

"If you're unable to activate Windows 11, the Activation troubleshooter could help. To use the troubleshooter, select Start > Settings > System > Activation , and then select Troubleshoot ."

    Source link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/usi....

Please follow the steps below to check the status of your license key.

Please click the Start menu, then type in CMD, right-click, and run as administrator.

Then on the command prompt window type in

    slmgr -dli

This will show the kind of license that you have. It can be one of three types: Retail (FPP (Full Packaged Product)), OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer), and Volume Licensing. The last type is usually for organizations that have multiple license keys and are not for resale. It is the type that is most often used for pirate copies of Windows.

If it doesn't work with that command, type in this command instead then press enter.

    slmgr /dlv

and then please copy and paste the result into our conversation. Thanks!

To check if your copy of Windows matches the key you have, please

Tap on Windows Key and the letter R on your keyboard to open the Run box, and in the Run box type winver then press enter, please copy and paste the results here. Thanks!
