Sign into this computer using your Microsoft Account Not Working

My mom got a new laptop, and upon startup she could not log into her own Microsoft account, so I signed in. I made a local account, logged out of my account, and tried to log into her account but I am stuck at the screen that says "Sign into this computer using your Microsoft account. Next time you sign into this computer, use your Microsoft account password or Windows Hello, if you've set it up. We'll need your current Windows password one last time."

I have tried to enter my Microsoft password, her pin, her Microsoft password, and even clicking enter and leaving the field blank as suggested on some other threads. It is already insane that I could not log into her account from the get go, as the password was correct, I even reset it to make sure. It just said that "We made a mistake. Oops!" and kicked you out of the field.

Hello, this is emily.

This is NOT your Microsoft account password, but your current local account's password.

If your local account doesn't have a password, use this instruction to set up one:

Hold down Ctrl + Alt + Del, click on "Change password".

For the current password field, leave it blank.

Then set up a new password.

Once set, go back to what you were doing. When prompted for Windows password, use the one you just set up.

Another alternative is to hold down Windows + R keys, type in netplwiz and press enter. Then click on Add. and see if it allows you to sign into her Microsoft account. Once signed in successfully, back to netplwiz page, double click on her user, go to membership tab and make it admin. Restart the computer and her user should be on the lower left.
