I accidentally locked my Laptop using my Microsoft account.

I opened microsoft.com on my phone then pressed on my profile pic after that to "My Microsoft Account" then to the 3 lines on the top left then on devices tab. I found my Laptop device on there, so out of curiosity I pressed on find my device then Lock. Now my Laptop is locked and I can't open it. Everytime I try to put my pin for my Laptop (I am sure the pin is correct) it says "An administrator has restricted sign in. To sign in, make sure your device is connected to the Internet, and get your administrator to sign in first.".

Note: I have only one profile which IS the administrator and my Laptop IS connected to the Internet.

You should be able to choose to keep your data during the reset, but your apps would need to be re-installed.

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

The only method to get back into that device after remotely locking it on your Microsoft account online is to reset Windows, it is a known problem with that Lock function.

Click the power button on the login screen.

Press the Shift Key and click Restart

Your PC will boot into the Windows Recovery Environment

Go to Troubleshoot - Advanced Options - Reset this PC
