My mouse cursor moves around uncontrollably.

The mouse cursor moves about uncontrollably, most often when the cursor is in the taskbar. I've tried multiple optical mice as well as a wired mouse, but no luck. I tried one of the optical mice on another computer and it worked fine. My computer is an Aspire TC-780-ACK15 running Windows 10.

Hello there! I am Charity, I'm an Independent Advisor. I'm glad to help you today!

I'm really sorry that this has happened to you. Go to the Control Panel, select "Hardware and Sound," and then "Mouse." Under the "Pointer Options" tab, reduce the pointer speed or uncheck "Enhance pointer precision." This might resolve erratic movements.

In the Device Manager, expand "Mice and other pointing devices" and update the mouse drivers. If you have multiple mice listed, update all of them. Restart the computer afterward to see if it resolves the issue.

If you're using a desktop, this is unlikely to apply, but on laptops, an overly sensitive touchpad can cause cursor jumps. Disabling the touchpad in the device settings can help.

Please let me know if this works for you. I'll do my best to respond as soon as possible.

Kind Regards,

Charity (Active hours 2PM~5AM GMT+08:00)

Please note that things might need more than one reply to completely resolve your issue, as it will completely depend on the complexity of the question and the amount of detail that you have provided me. I'll be with you until we resolve your problem!
