Usb port isn't working after update

My Pc has never had any problems until I updated the system, then when try to use my keyboard or mouse it doesn't work anymore. I tried it on another pc and it works but not on mines. I cant access anything on the computer because I have no control. And i have no way to go back an update.

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Many people are reporting this problem after that update, use these steps to uninstall that update and your mouse and keyboard should work again.

Start your PC, just as Windows attempts to load (spinning dots), press and hold Power Button for 5 - 10 seconds to perform a Hard Shut Down

Do this twice

On the third start Windows will boot into the Recovery Environment and from there you can access System Repair, Safe Mode, Command Prompt... etc.

In the recovery environment, there is an option to uninstall the update that caused the problem.

If that works for you, when you get into Windows, pause your updates until next month to stop that update that caused the problem being installed again.

I’m having the same problem but don’t get the dots. It sometimes eventually boots into front screen. No options available

    Hi,

    It worked yesterday but this morning pc wouldn’t boot into Windows. Tried all the tips again but Acer stated couldn’t remove updates or repair.

    Hi,

    It worked eventually after many attempts! I finally got the options and had to Remove, Repair - after which I keyboard and mouse returned! I had to restart and unplug and replug a few cables and I have paused updates for a week. Thank you for your help.
