All USB Devices on all Ports keep disconnecting (including USB-C) while in use or while Idleing.

I´m using a Inspiron 16 Laptop and for a while now all my USB devices keep randomly (but still quite often) disconnecting all at once. Even when Using a docking station only the USB connections stop working until I manually reconnect them. The USB-devices like a mouse, keyboard or headphones work normally on other laptops/PCs, so I don't think the problem is there. My docking station has its own power supply so i've ruled out the lack of power (keep in mind that the same also happens to devices directly connected to the Laptop).

Is there anything I can do to fix the issue?

Hello there! I am Charity, I'm an Independent Advisor. I'm glad to help you today!

I'm really sorry that happened to you. Let's check power management settings.

Press Windows key + X and select Device Manager.

Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.

Right-click on each USB Root Hub device, select Properties, and navigate to the Power Management tab.

Uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.

Click OK to apply the changes.

Please let me know if this works for you. I'll do my best to respond as soon as possible.

Kind Regards,

Charity

Thank you for the information. Hmm, it's possible that the hub can't have stable power. Please try using an external wall USB c charger while connecting your other devices. I would also test how many USB devices that can handle the hub.

Here is an amazon listing of the USB-C one.

It seems to be now partially working. I had forgotten to turn off the suspending checkmark for this USB-C hub. Now it works partially. With that I mean that it doesn't disconnect the devices after a while like it used to, but when pressing buttons on the connected keyboard it sometimes disconnects and the reconnects after a second or so.

Thank you for getting back to me. May I ask what is the make and model of your docking station?

this seems to have fixed the issue only when i plug in the devices directly into the USB-A port. docking stations/USB hubs on the USB-C port still disconnect. I don't currently have access to my USB-A docking station, but when I do, I will try if that works.

Is there any way I can resolve the issue for the USB-C port in the meantime.

    Thanks in advance,

    UnDeo
