Unable to change user account name

I'm trying to change my user account name, but nothing seems to work. I've changed the name of my Microsoft account, but that had no effect on my user account name. I've also ran "netplwiz", and it's come the closest to working: when I open my computer, my new name shows up until I type in my password and hit enter, at which point it reverts permanently to my old name.

I see. So it is your display name (first and last ) right?

In this case, have you tried relinking your Microsoft account on this device?

Go to Settings > Accounts > Your info

Click on Sign in with local user instead. follow the steps and finish the rest.

(If you don't see the "sign in with a local account instead option, click on "Stop signing into Microsoft apps automatically" first, then relaunch this page. )

Restart the computer (Do Not skip)

Go to Settings > Accounts > Your info

Click on Sign in with Microsoft account instead. follow the steps and finish the rest

Restart the computer (Do Not skip)

No, I'm trying to change the name that appears when I first open my computer (right above where I enter my password)

    Hello,

Can you please specify what you meant exactly by your user account name? Is it the one you see in C:\users\your username folder here?
