Keyboard issue, @ key and " key have swapped places.

HI,

I recently upgraded (anything would have been an upgrade from HP) from a HP keyboard to a Rapoo Keyboard and mouse.

A little disappointed in the Rapoo but anyway.

I noted that the Hp keyboard when in its last days, used the @ key and showed ", and visa-versa.

The Rapoo is doing exactly the same thing..which makes me wonder if its the keyboard.

Has anyone experienced this or have a suggestion as to WHY and HOW to resolve?

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

When the @ symbol and the " symbol are swapped, that indicated the keyboard language is set incorrectly.

If the @ symbol on your keyboard is above the 2, you have a US English Keyboard

If the " symbol on your keyboard is above the 2, you have a UK English Keyboard

Open the Settings App, then go to Time & language - Language & region

Check in there that the correct keyboard language is set for your physical keyboard.

If that does not resolve the problem, please provide a photo of your physical keyboard.

If you have added the US English keyboard, move that to the top of the list and set it as the default language, then uninstall the UK English keyboard, then after a restart, that should solve the problem.

Brilliant! Thanks.

Never knew UK keyboards were different. It explains a lot.

It was set to ('english UK').

I downloaded the ('english US')...and I assume after a windows restart, all should be good?!
