Windows 11 24H2 UPDATE fails to install

Windows Update says, "Your version of Windows has reached the end of service." Check for Updates returns NOTHING to update.

I have ...

Edition Windows 11 Home

Version 22H2

Installed on ‎6/‎5/‎2023

OS build 22621.4317

Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22700.1041.0

Processor AMD Ryzen 7 5700G with Radeon Graphics 3.80 GHz

Installed RAM 32.0 GB (31.3 GB usable)

Device ID 352F2889-67E1-46AB-8182-2FE14BEA07FF

Product ID 00342-22133-35946-AAOEM

System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Pen and touch No pen or touch input is available for this display

I have tried theWindows 11 Installation Assistant and downloaded the Windows 11 ISO and virtually mounted it to install. Both ended with a small popup window that said "Your Windows installation has failed". This is after the big blue screen which counts up the installation percentage and says there maybe several reboots along the way. Well, gets to 100% and no reboots and fails.

Note:

The compatibility appraiser task seems to be disabled on your system.

After editing the registry as mentioned earlier, please enable the compatibility appraiser using Task Scheduler. It's very essential for Windows Update.

Go to:

Task Scheduler Library > Microsoft > Windows > Application Experience.

Right-click on the Microsoft Compatibility Appraiser task and then select Enabled.

Right-click on the Microsoft Compatibility Appraiser task and then select Run. It takes a few minutes to complete.

After the task completes execution, restart Windows and check for updates. Let me know if WU offers 23H2 or 24H2.

The setup failed with the error code [0x8007001F, 0x50016] because of duplicate profiles.

    1. Please backup the registry using Acelogix RegBak - https://www.acelogix.com/regbak.html.
    2. Launch Regedit.exe and go to the following branch: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList
    3. Expand the "ProfileList" key and delete the following subkeys: S-1-5-21-2080001747-821279937-728704806-1003 S-1-5-21-2080001747-821279937-728704806-1005
    4. Rerun the Windows 11 24H2 setup.

    Hi, This is Ramesh.

Please share your Windows setup logs to help me determine why the setup failed. The following batch file collects the setup logs and saves the zip file to your desktop.

Download setuplogscollect.bat and run it as administrator.

    https://winhelponline.com/files/setuplogscollec...

Right-click on the downloaded file and click Properties. Click "Unblock" and click OK.

Right-click on the file and choose "Run as administrator"

It outputs a SetupLogs.zip file on your desktop.

Share the file on OneDrive and post the download link here.
