** This problem has been fixed! I suggest following all of** [Ramesh Srinivasan**'s steps in the thread. ]**
Hello! I am currently a Windows Insider in the Beta channel. I received an optional feature update called Windows 11 Insider Preview 10.0.26120.3073 (ge_release_upr).
What happens:
-I download and install the update. My computer restarts, and an "Updates are underway" screen reaches 100%. It then restarts again. It then reaches another update screen, where it takes a while.
-Once it reaches a percentage (usually 68%~~ ish), the PC shuts down, turns itself on, and repeats again and again until it attempts to revert the update. I can then come back to Windows Update, and it shows me this error:
What I've tried to fix it:
-sfc /scannow. Does not find anything unusual.
-dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth. Does not complete and gets stuck.
-Secure boot (PC was already in secure boot by default)
-Restarting
-Updating drivers (GPU and CPU)
-chkdsk c: found nothing out of the ordinary.
-SetupDiag.exe does not run, and I can't find any solution.
-Install other optional updates. (the only one that remains is this problematic one)
-Windows Update Troubleshooter finds a "problem" but does not actually fix the error.
Another special thing to note: As said above, I was able to install other small updates just fine along with trying to install this problematic one. Only this update encounters an error, and all others that I've tried so far have been successfully installed. I am also aware that this is a generic error code.
Hopefully someone can help me with this issue. I would like to be able to update again without having to wipe my data. I'll only do so as a last resort.
Thanks community!
